Water retention is also called fluid retention when the body is not well hydrated and its fluid levels are not balanced, the body tends to hold/store a bit more water than it generally does.
Which may make you feel bloated and heavier due to the excess amount of water retained by your body tissues.

Again you don’t have to worry a lot about this as this issue can occur due to various factors including,

1.Genetics(Which is if you are sensitive to fluid retention)

2.Hormonal imbalance(which happens mostly in women around their menstrual cycle when their estrogen levels are high and progesterone levels are low)

3.Diet(Which is the main factor here)

Thus how you can reduce/eliminate water retention?

1.Sip more Water when you are in the state of dehydration, your body starts to hold to a little bit of water which is supplied to it, considering that it will run out of water as you are dehydrated and thus body starts to hold the little amount of water which leads to water retention.

Hence the best way to flush and reduce fluid retention is to be well hydrated and drink more water every day.

our bodies are mostly made up of water, which is the most essential component of life.

If your urine color is not white and clean, it is the natural signal from your body that it needs more water.
Therefore up your daily water intake and drink a good amount of water every day, eventually you will start to see the difference in your face and skin health.

2.Reduce and manage your salt intake

As salt is sodium chloride, which is essential and important for the body’s health but sometimes when we binge food at a party or eat a lot of outside food, that food is high in salt. where sodium present in the salt has a nature to retain water in the body.
Hence after that big binge meal, try to reduce and manage your salt in your meals for few days.
Thus if you enjoyed that big Friday dinner with your loved ones and you saw your face bloated the next day, just reduce the total salt intake for a few days.

Remember salt is essential for our bodies, hence never go for zero salts, just reduce the amount.

3.Add magnesium and potassium to your diet

These two minerals have an essential role to play in our body functioning and overall health but they also help to reduce water retention by managing the sodium levels in our body, thus reducing conventional water retention.

Hence some good amount of magnesium-rich foods that you can add is,

1.Dark Chocolate

2.Peanuts

3.Pumpkin seeds

4.Green leafy vegetables

Some potassium-rich foods which you can add to your diet are,

1.coconut water

2.Kiwi

3.Banana

4.Go for the good workouts

Going for the exercise that you love and engaging in some workout will help your body to restore and manage fluid balance by flushing out certain toxins from the body and maintain proper hydration.
Thus enjoy and burn those calories.

5.Have a good sleep routine

Not having a good sleep routine and pattern can also play with your hormones, which can again lead to a certain imbalance in the good hormones and thus water retention in some cases.

Thus to be on the safer side, having a deep sleep every day for about 7 hrs can really be a game-changer for your overall health.

Therefore these are some good tips that you can add to your routine to reduce water retention.

I hope this answer adds some value to your life!
