What are some "HEALTHY" foods that are not so "HEALTHY"
These are some foods that most of the people think are healthy but in reality, it is just clever marketing or misinformation on the internet that people go for these products which is you should go for the actual healthy foods which I will tell below,
1.Corn flakes
Corn flakes are just the result of clever marketing by the USA based companies in the mid of the 90s claiming that breakfast has to be the most important meal of the day and this corn flakes can fulfill your daily requirement of nutrients which is that it is so highly processed and added with lots of artificial preservatives and sugar that the amount of nutrient its provides to your body is nothing, Thus corn flakes are not a healthy thing to begin your day with,
Instead:- Poha, oats, Besan Chilla, Paratha, Eggs, etc
2. Masala oats:- Again marketing is done by these companies, I don’t know why most people think oats as something magical which will burn there body fat away? Oats is a great source of protein and fiber and good carb source to start your day with but the oats which are available raw like the one in the image below, not these processed masalas oats with added processed veggies and lots of preservatives. If you want to have masala oats cook it by yourself by watching any youtube video about how to cook masala oats.
Thus don’t go for these masala oats.
Instead:- Plain/Raw oats which can be cooked and customized at your kitchen further.
3.Peanut Butter:-Now Again when someone is new to healthy lifestyle the other thing they pick is the peanut butter that is available on the market, which certainly looks like this,
Now, this peanut butter is just not made up of from the peanuts, it has added hydrogenated oils, Preservatives, Salt, sugar, and certain emulsifiers which in turn totally spoil the benefits or the essence of the peanut butter. Now by this, I don’t mean that it is some kind of poison but when we talk about healthy foods this processed peanut butter doesn’t qualify.
Instead:- The best peanut butter you can have is the natural peanut butter which made up of using only good quality peanuts.
4.Whole Wheat Bread:-
Atta bread or brown bread that is mostly available in the markets is not a whole wheat bread or Aatta bread, actually, it is a scam since making bread out of Whole wheat is not feasible to many companies due to multiple reasons, which is why they add refined flour which is maida in the bread and sell it is as atta bread, even you can have a look before buying the bread that refined flour is added in the ingredients list
Instead:l- Purchase the bread which is completely made up of whole wheat(By going through the ingredients list of the bread)
5.Multigrain biscuits:-
Multigrains biscuits are not healthy as they are also made up of using refined flour(maida) only with some amount of using multigrain flour which is just another scam.
Instead:- Go for any other biscuit if you want like parle g or atta biscuits or any other normal cheap biscuit(But remember not to overconsume it), but don’t consume these multigrain biscuits thining that these are something healthy.
6.Processed Meats:-
Although in India the craze of processed meats is not as big as it is in the USA or other western countries since these processed meats are the made up of using multiple types of meat source and then adding a lot of preservatives, chemicals and emulsifiers to prolong the shelf life of meat, just use your common sense that how can meat not be decayed or spoiled even after so many months and the answer to this question is the high usage of preservatives and chemicals in these meats, thus don’t go for these processed sausages and meats.
Instead:- The best is to get the fresh meat from the meat house and cook it in your kitchen.
Also by this post, I don’t mean that these foods are poison or not safe to consume, actually, you shouldn’t consume them in the first place but still if had or have no other option just consume them like once in a blue moon. As these foods are not meant to be consumed on a regular basis and on the top they are not healthy as they are portrayed.
Thus these are some healthy foods that most people consume thinking that they are healthy but actually they aren’t.
